Paired essay

Paired essay with Chantelle
I got the chance to meet my partner, Chantelle, from Zimbabwe right after I contacted her via text. She is clever, friendly, and easy-going person. Chantelle currently is doing her double major in computer information technology and business administration in Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe.
Chantelle and I are from different continent of the world, but we got the chance to meet each other in America. Chantelle told me she had to apply for scholarship program back home in order to join SUSI program. It wasn't an easy thing to get into this program, however Chantelle did it and successfully made the trip to America! She was so thankful that she was able to join this program, see and experience the difference things. As an international student study in America, I also agree with what she said, because it is always a wonderful experience to study abroad and meet people from different places. Chantelle’s first language are both English and Shona, which we is great for her to speak English since she was young. In my country, Taiwan, we do not learn English until grade 3 in primary school. Even school taught “English” as subject, we do not really learn how to speak. Thus, I always feel it is a great idea for people learn another language since they were young, so that they can pronounce and express properly.
Chantelle told me bathing system is a bit different from America. She mentioned here have a very good system that there is always have a warm water and you can always flush toilet right away. She mentioned she needs to warm up water for shower, and have to use a big cup of water to flush toilet after used it. Those situations remind me about the time I home stay at a family in Northeastern part of Thailand, which I have to do the same thing what Chantelle mentioned, it was very inconvenient at the time. Therefore, when I heard about she mentioned the bathing system here is great, it really makes me feel that I am very lucky to take shower whenever I want.

It was a really great experience for me to have chance talk with people from Zimbabwe. Except met with my roommate from north part of Africa, I never have a chance to talk with people from Zimbabwe or some other countries belong to south of Sahara. Chantelle and other girls I met are just so easy-going people. I enjoyed the great time with them and hope I have chance to visit here in the future.
